Autocomplete FAQ

Find answers to common questions about automatic and fixed task placements.

Does autocomplete run while Nodify Calendar is closed?

No. Autocomplete runs locally while Nodify Calendar is open.

When you start the app, autocomplete checks for relevant changes and starts a new run if it is enabled.

Can I schedule part of a task manually?

Yes. A manually scheduled task block stays fixed and counts towards the task’s expected duration.

Autocomplete places only the remaining work. For example, if a task has an expected duration of three hours and you schedule one hour manually, autocomplete can place the remaining two hours.

Can autocomplete place a task outside its schedule to meet a deadline?

No. Autocomplete only uses slots that belong to the task’s assigned schedule.

A soft deadline allows work to be placed after the deadline, but it does not allow autocomplete to use slots from another schedule.

What happens if fixed task blocks cover the full expected duration?

Autocomplete does not create additional blocks for that task.

If the fixed blocks cover more time than the expected duration, they remain unchanged. Autocomplete treats the task as having no remaining work to place.
