Backup and restore
Nodify Calendar automatically creates local backups of its database.
Automatic backups
While the app is active, a backup is created every 30 minutes. Nodify Calendar also attempts to create a final backup when you quit the app normally.
The three most recent backups are kept. Older automatic backups are removed.
Backups are stored in the app’s local data directory on the same computer as the main database.
Because the backups remain on the same device, they can help with database corruption but do not protect against losing the computer or its storage.
Restore a damaged database
When Nodify Calendar is unable to open its database, it shows the Database needs recovery screen.
To recover your data:
- Select Restore from backup.
- Wait while Nodify Calendar replaces the damaged database with the most recent available backup.
- Continue using the app after the database opens.
Changes made after the most recent backup may not be restored.
If no backup is available, Restore from backup is disabled.
Start with an empty database
Select Start over (empty) only when the database cannot be restored or you no longer need its contents.
This removes the damaged local database and creates a new empty one. Tasks, events, calendars, schedules, and settings from the previous database will not be available.
Current limitations
Nodify Calendar 0.2.2 does not provide controls for creating a manual backup, choosing an older backup, exporting the database, or importing a backup from another computer.
